Kendall and Mark got one of the best Pittsburgh summer evenings I have ever experienced. ALL day it was 85+ and when we started to shoot it dropped down to the 70's, had a breeze and the sun was shining. Which says a lot right now because I feel like it has rained in Pittsburgh every day for a month. The Strip District is always a favorite of mine. There is so much to offer and almost every type of environment you could ask for....you just have to be willing to look for it!

Alyssa and Andrew - North Shore engagement session

Alyssa and Andrew - North Shore engagement session

Being a wedding photographer in Pittsburgh, PA can sometimes be a challenge. Not because of the clients or lack of amazing scenery but because of the weather, road closures (especially in the summer), Baseball games, football games, etc. One minute and can be gorgeous out and then BAM its raining 20 minutes later. We also have days where it just rains all day for days on end. In the last 4 years in Pittsburgh we have had more shoots moved or postponed than our combined 9 years between NYC and FL. SO when it comes time to shoot most people do not want a gloomy rainy day for their photos, they want sun! Alyssa + Andrew had just that, SUN! All morning and early afternoon is was overcast and rainy but just before it was time to shoot the sun poked out from behind the clouds and gave us some amazing weather. We had so much fun goofing around and acting like weirdos on the North shore and after that we went up to Mount Washington where Andrew proposed. Alyssa and Andrew, you guys are awesome!

Jena and Kaleb engagement session - Lawrenceville

Jena and Kaleb engagement session - Lawrenceville

We all woke up Sunday morning to rain, started texting about changing plans, getting umbrellas, rain boots and towels to keep dry and when it came time to shoot....SUN! We had a blast running around Lawrenceville for a little while and then Independent Brewing Company was AWESOME and opened their doors to us on their day off and let us shoot inside. It is never hard to do my job when we have such awesome clients and friends!

From the bride and groom: We chose the ACE hotel Pittsburgh because of the hip and cool vibe it gave off, and of course the amazing food from Whitfield! Our whole idea was to go for a fun, simple, elegant, modern and light hearted feel. If we had one piece of advice it would be to hire a wedding planner/coordinator specifically Melissa with Devoted to you. She was amazing! We seriously did not have to worry about a thing and we just got to enjoy ourselves all day.

Our trip to Kentucky

Our trip to Kentucky!

On our last weekend off we knew we had to do something fun before wedding season starts! By now I am sure that most of you know that Chrissy and I love Whiskey, particularly bourbons and ryes. Our number one visit was Willet. A craft distillery just outside Bardstown, KY and it was AWESOME. You immediately feel like family when you enter the grounds and every bit of it is genuine. We also visited Heaven Hill, Maker's Mark, Buffalo Trace and Woodford. Every one had something cool to see and offer. We would HIGHLY recommend a trip to Kentucky....whether you like whiskey or not, it is an awesome trip!

Our trip to Park City, UT

Our trip to Park City, UT

Our annual trip to Park City was a blast this year! Instead of skiing for 5 days we decided to do some more exploration and activities throughout the area. We look our Neice snow tubing or as she says "snow skiing!" and she had a BLAST. We went over to Heber, UT and took a swim in the hot springs and finished our trip with a tour of Blue Sky Ranch where the High West Distillery is located. It is always nice to get away for a week and see some new things. It is easy to forget how much the U.S. has to offer!
